it'sday2of HATWEEK!!!!!!

today is the second day of the first official Hat Week!
since it took me foooooorever to figure out to what to wear this morning i just kinda threw something together... and actually look kind of cute...   but as i don't have an utter abundance of cute casual winter hats, i am wearing my simple (but adorable) black cloche with the bow on the side.  


the student activities board brought a sketch artist to the student union building so jb and i got our "sexy side"s sketched :)
since we were both in skirts we weren't sure how he was going to get "sexy" out of the picture (he sketches mainly from the back...) but we turned out pretty awesome!

while perusing the www i found several interesting hat-related articles so i'll share those along with the day's pictures!!

we had an... interesting time trying to get a picture of our hats together like this... we were lying on a table, but only partially... most of me was hanging off :)  at least these turned out cute.

while we were in the library looking for books that matched our outfits, jb ran accross this interesting art book that had a patinint thing attached to it.  someone had signed it and it looks like it says JuJu... well she had every reason to assume i had signed it (i would do something like that...) but i hadn't.  since there were 2 blanks she signed her name, we pretended the other was mine, then fingerprinted it for further notariaty :)

this week has been officially declared...

to honor hat week, jb and i will be wearing a new hat everyday :)
and posting pictures of course ;) so let the topping begin!!

so since my last post...
-merry christmas
-happy new year
    (which i got to spend with an awesome friend of mine Jeanne Deville)
-i have a camera again!!
    (which is actually borrowed from my grandparents but hey it's better than nothing)
-i got a new phone
    (which i may or may not keep... it swivels on a corner and i'm not sure it can sustain the daily grind of my life... being dropped 3 times a day on average...  the screen is already cracked in 2 places..)
- IT SNOWWWWWWED  
        aaand i made a snowman!! albeit he was a few inches tall, but a snowman none the less :)
- school started
    (mehh... i'll try not to talk about it unless it's a really awesome day)

which brings us to today...
-  MLK day = day off = :)


ok so even though i have a camera again, posting pictures will still be a bit halting... due to an unfortunate turn of events, my sister ran over my computer with her car... so i am stuck in a back and forth between getting a new slr camera or a new computer...  bahh.

too much fun...

so long (more like hilarious and ironic, tell ya later) story but i'm using my little sisters computer and it has a built-in web cam and i've had a bit of fun with it :)

yesterday i wore my super cute fedora from target ($3.50!!) and was sipping hot wassail that the secretary in the music building makes from scratch and keeps piping hot on the stove (she is so awesome!!)  and i hijakked a cu from the lounge that ... well you can see for your self :)

                                                                           

also i found some ghost DOTS!!!!!

left over from Halloween i suppose lol... and typically i hate DOTS but hey it's not every day one gets the chance to eat a ghost :) 

they were mystery flavor....

i didn't bother trying to figure it out.

it only came with 4... fail

anyway got to finish my physics final papers ...  TATA!!!

meet, greet, and in the door put your feet

i'm in Nachitoches Louisiana for the festival of lights!!!
Disney performing artist Anna Margaret came and performed a few songs and did a meet and greet..  real cute but here's the real story...
ok so my dad does some engineering work for the city and he knows a lot of the city people, so we're invited to the party at the city's house on the river where everything is happnin'  well this year Anna Margaret (who is from Lecompte Louisiana) is the grand marshal of the parade and a guest of the city so she came to the party.  i only spoke to her in passing on the stairs there.  the concert started at 2 so i went down to the stage about 20 minutes beforehand to rub elbows and bend the rules :) before she got there.  at the merch table (run by her family) i talked to her grandmother and she's a real doll.  i had with me my Pentax film camera so i got some shots from the side of the stage and then i slipped in the barricade gate and got some great (hopefully) close-up shots from the from of the stage!  when she finished, after the carted her off, i asked one of the ladies that was part of her "crew" if they had a production photographer (which is something i would like to do so i wanted to talk to someone already in the business) and she said that she didn't think so but "that's her manager right there, he'd be the one to ask"....   so i went up and said hi to her manager and music man and hes a very jovial man, great personality... anyway, he said that they didn't, Disney usually supplies one" but i don't really like them" lol and that "Anna likes to support people from Louisiana"... i'm telling you i almost popped out of my skin and volunteered :)
so he said to send Anna a message on facebook and tell her that i talked to him and he'd hook me up with a list of photographers!!!!  i'm going over to her trailer (which is parked right across the street from my dads office) after the fireworks to talk to her and her manager!!  maybe i can hook up with them sometime and do pictures :)
oo the fireworks started!!! brb
ok so i hung out at the meet and greet after the fireworks (poor dear was smiling for pictures and signing autographs for almost two hours after the fireworks) and visited with her manager and her little brother Grant until she was finished.  then her manager took me back to where she was at the table and said "this is the photographer i was telling you about"   {i almost fell over... ANNA's  manager was talking about ME lol} so she introduced herself, and i did the same, and she gave me her web information to get in touch with her to get in touch with her manager who is going to send me a list of production photographers!! how super exciting is that?!?!?   so i got my feet in the door and i hope it goes somewhere!!!
Anna is so super sweet :) and even after going since 8 that morning she look utterly fabulous... natural beauty is special like that.
i also got some up close shots of the concert with my vintage Pentax... i hope they turn out!!
