Spinny Chairs (pattern mixing week day 5)

Spinning around and around and around and around and around in a spinny chair will make you very dizzy very fast. We know.

On day five of pattern mixing week it was supposed to rain. It did not. Juju wore Toms, so she must be smarter than Mr. Weatherman.

I figured that today was a perfect day for plaid, and the zebra boots were inevitable (you know, since there was supposed to be RAIN!). Juju went with floral and another unnameable pattern, but here's a close-up.

Baby carriage, shoe, tiger. It's like I Spy on a shirt. The tag probably has a list: find the horse; find the rabbit; find the blue gummy bear. Or maybe not.

Here are the two funniest pictures of the day.

We should really get some kind of award for making such awesome faces while falling off a chair. But our, we're-having-fun faces are pretty awesome too.

Pattern Mixers 4-ever

Ready for day four of our Patterns at Play week? Why do I bother asking, of course you do.

But first, an important question: Why hasn't Juju been blogging? Well darlings, my gorgeous BFF is currently having computer issues, thus the lack of her posting. BUT, she will soon be back and we will be double trouble!

Onto patterns, now? Okay.

Juju decided to rock gingham and red zebra print today.

I really ought to confess. The idea behind my outfit came from this outfit by Kristine. Or Polly. As soon as I saw the red stripes and polka dotted skirt, I knew I had to try it!

Enough patterns for the day. On to the new game we made up. Want to know how to play our new game? It's easy.

First, get some pennies.

Then, lie on your stomach on the floor...

... and flick pennies at each other.

Third Time's a Charm

It's day THREE of our Patterns at Play week!

I tried my best to at least get a glimpse of today's outfits in pictures, but Juju was playing Ms. Procrastinator on an art project, thus outfit pictures were not the priority.

Juju is wearing stripes and argyle! ARGYLE! Have I ever mentioned my love for argyle? No? Well argyle is kind of my second love. I absolutely love it when my future husband wears argyle dress socks. He usually gets an extra kiss on those days. He thinks I'm silly, but he keeps wearing them.

Since Juju usually plays photographer for me when we meet up, and she was unavailable today, I made do with my point and shoot and the lockers at the gym. Don't they make for a  lovely backdrop?

Ok, enough outfits. Let's delve into the mystery of what-was-Juju's-incredible-art-project-that-kept-her-from-playing-photographer/model-with-her-BFF-?. (The period is on purpose since the question mark is part of the title of our little mystery. Little Miss English must set things strait.)

First of all, never trust Juju with machinery.

It is a scary sight.

See that cute little wire tight-rope girl? She is Juju's handiwork! Juju is the big one with the little umbrella.

Here she is putting on the finishing touches:

With the finished project!

Day 2 of Pattern Mixing Week! (Way late)

Remember a long time ago when we had Pattern Mixing Week? Remember how Juju and I tend to forget to blog? Ok, well here's day 2. We had this in the archives and forgot to post. So enjoy! :)

First things first--obligatory foot picture.

Now how about we check out some of our ingenious pattern mixing, k?

Perhaps you recognize our photo spot?

And day two of Pattern Mixing Week begins!

I’ve done pattern mixing before, but this week I’m going all out! TWO bold patterns? Sure thing! Crazy color mix? Okay!

I’ve kind of gotten used to getting weird looks because of my outfits, especially at college where the height of fashion is a North Face pullover and Uggs. This encourages me to break out of my comfort zone and wear things I normally wouldn’t. Whether I wear something cute or crazy, I’ll get the same stares, so when I pick out my outfits I figure, why not?

(and now a word from juju)

today i defied one of the cardinal rules of fashion...
*stripes with polka dots*
*gasp*

but i looked cute, no?

i didn't get may pics but i got something better!!    while jb's camera was taking pictures on timer, mine was videoing :)
i look ridiculous, like a floppy clown, but i caught some pretty awesome moments that didn't make it into the pictures ;)

Pattern Mixing Week: Day 1: Take 2: Twinkies

Juju and I wore twin mixed patterned skirts tonight! (Disregard the fact that this is my same outfit from this morning and that Juju is cute enough to create two cute outfits in one day.)

Pattern Mixing Week Day 1!

It's our first day of Patterns at Play Week

Juju is rocking stripes, florals, and--well I'm not quite sure what to call it. Ummm... how about a pattern? Yes, Juju is rocking stripes, florals, and a pattern. Correct.

I decided that pattern mixing week just wouldn't be complete unless I wore my cheetah print/floral skirt. I kind of felt like I was cheating, though, since I didn't put the prints together, which is why I added the striped shoes.

To celebrate the beginning of this lovely week of mixing patterns, I begged asked my future husband, Dork, if we could have a mini photo shoot down by the creek. He is such a good little photographer.

Of course, the fact that he has an adorable subject helps him. Doesn't he make me look good?

A Declaration (#2)

A few weeks ago, Juju made our first declaration--hat week! This week, we are declaring it to be...

We're calling it PATTERNS AT PLAY because it's totally adorable, right? Right.

This week, we will be experimenting with pattern mixing and posting our results. Here's to stripes, florals, polka dots, animal prints, and plaid!

Heart Day

I've come to the conclusion that only people in a relationship actually like Valentine's Day. And I totally understand it. I hated it until I found Dork (aka my future husband, Kaleb). But now I kind of like it. We go on dates pretty frequently, and he oftentimes brings me flowers/presents on a random day just because he loves me, so we like to make Valentine's extra special. Usually he likes to surprise me, which is what he did this year.

This year's surprise was a trip to a super fancy restaurant that I've been wanting to go to for years.  YEARS, I tell you! So we ate super wonderful fancy food. He even dressed up in a suit! For me! He doesn't like to wear suits unless it's for church, so I felt pretty special.

Since we're just too cute for the world to not see...

My Future Husband

Recently, I posted about my recent (or not-so-recent) engagement and I figure that I ought to introduce to soon-to-be husband. This is Kaleb, but I call him Dork.

Isn't he a cutie? (The answer is yes.)

We've been dating for three years and we're getting married in July!

This guy knows me better than I know myself. He's my other half and my best friend. And I can't wait to spend forever with him.

What We Love

2. Stuff-A-Bear

3. Beauty and the Beast

Happy birthday to us!

Today we celebrated our blog's one year anniversary!

We couldn't find a birthday cake candle, so we just had to make do with what we had. This is us being all Gallagher Girl. For the record, caramel ice cream topping makes excellent glue.

Something to note: If a (lit) match somehow disappears, check behind you. Then act like you have no idea why there is a burnt spot in the carpet.

Time for celebration!

Book Character Love

Though I'm engaged, I think I'm still allowed to crush on book characters--especially when it's a hot spy guy. Because I like to not do homework, I made a valentine's card type of thing featuring me with Mr. Zachary Goode of the Gallagher Girls books by Ally Carter. (We totally love everything about Ally, and we frequently don plaid skirts.)

Juju and I agree that Drew Roy makes the most perfect Zach.

Now I should really go do homework. Or eat. Or sleep. Or something else that college kids do.

And if you've never read the Gallagher Girl books, you're totally missing out. Go buy them. Now.
